Julian Pischke, 90 of Watertown and formerly of Webster died on Monday, May 16, 2016 at a Watertown hospital. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster. Burial will be in St. Otto’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday 5-7 P.M. ending with a 7 P.M. Rosary. Julian Pischke was born on May 5, 1926 to Mike and Mary (Poplau) Pischke at Webster, South Dakota. He was baptized at St. Otto’s Catholic Church in Webster and attended St. Otto’s Parochial School. After he received his education he farmed with his parents. In December 1951 he entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War and was stationed in Panama. After his honorable discharge in April 1953 he returned to the area and farmed in Highland Township, Day County south of Webster. Julian was united in marriage to Elizabeth Breske on May 5, 1954 at Waubay. After their marriage the couple continued to farm south of Webster. Elizabeth passed away in January 1970. He continued to farm. He married Shirley Dunne on November 15, 1975. She later died in December 1981. Julian married Helen Wika on January 18, 1983. They continued farming south of Webster until they retired in September 1989 and moved to Watertown. He and Helen moved to Jenkins Living Center in August 2015 and have resided there since. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. And he belonged to the Watertown V.F. W. Julian enjoyed playing cards and visiting with family and friends when they visited. Julian passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Watertown, South Dakota at the age of 90 years and 11 days. Survivors include his wife, Helen of Watertown; on daughter, Linda (Robert) Dolney of Webster, SD; three sons, Mark Pischke, John Pischke and James Pischke all of Webster, SD; a step-daughter, Marsha (Andy) Bauer of Oak Harbor,Washington; one brother, Florian (Marlys) Pischke of Watertown, SD; two sisters, Estella Kaiser of Bismarck, ND and Jeanette Lesnar of Webster, SD; one granddaughter, two step grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, an infant daughter, an infant son, one sister and three brothers.
