When Pat was young, the family moved near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended elementary school and Riverside High Schoool. Patrick joined the USMC, active duty on March 14, 1952 Patrick served overseas in Korea for one year, two months and received numerous service medals and badges. He was discharged from active duty on March 13, 1955. Patrick then enlisted into the USMC Reserve and was honorably discharged on March 13, 1960. Patrick was married on November 9, 1957 in Waukegan Illinois to Eileen. To this union three children were born, Patrick J. O’Shea the 3rd, Colleen and Laura. Patrick and his children enjoyed special times together. One of these special times were going camping and fishing in northern Wisconsin. Patrick and his wife Eileen divorced in 1982. In 1989 Patrick met Jean Nelsen. Patrick and Jean both worked in the printing industry. Patrick worked for many years as a pressman. Patrick and Jean were married on February 17, 1990 at the St. Johns Community Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They continued to live in the Milwaukee and then in the Germantown, Wisconsin area until May of 1996. They then moved to Waubay, South Dakota to enjoy the rest of their retirement years. Pat enjoyed cutting grass on his riding lawn mower and EATING! Jean enjoyed her special plants that she planted around the house and they both enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino to play the nickel slot machines. On July 19, 2013 Jean suffered a stroke and was admitted into the Bethesda Nursing Home in Webster South Dakota. Pat continued to live in their home until April 24, 2015. It was getting difficult for Patrick getting around and other health issues so Patrick decided to admit himself into the Bethesda Nursing Home. The main reason for this was PAT MISSED JEAN. Pat wanted to be with her. On May 15, 2015, Patrick suffered an apparent stroke. Patrick was then driven to Avera McKenna Hospital in Sioux Falls. It was confirmed that Patrick did have a stroke and would have to go through therapy. Patrick went through these therapies and was able to get back many of his motor/moving skills. We had a VERY hard time finding another Nursing Home for Patrick to get into. On May 22, 2015 he was admitted to the Golden Living Center in Milbank South Dakota. Patrick went through therapy and did quite well. He was walking around in his walker and getting into usual trouble which was just Pat!! Around the mid October Patrick’s health worsened. He had good days and bad days. Patrick passed away in his sleep on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. Veterans Day. Imagine that. Survivors include his wife, Jean of Webster, SD; one son, Patrick J.
