WEBSTER – Adeline McCarlson 86 of Webster died Sunday April 12, 2015 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. Her funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday April 16, 2015 at Tabor Lutheran Church north of Webster. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 P.M. at Fiksdal Funeral Service closing with a 7 P.M. prayer service. Adeline Jeaninne Wik was born on Wednesday, October 3, 1928 to Olaf and Florence (Johnson) Wik near Webster, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Tabor Lutheran Church. She attended country school near her home and graduated from Webster High School. She then attended Northern State Teacher’s College in Aberdeen and taught in area country schools. On June 12, 1948 she was united in marriage to Sherman McCarlson at Tabor Lutheran Church. After their marriage the couple made their home on various farms in the area until they moved to their present farm in Webster Township, northwest of Webster in 1957. She was a lifelong member of Tabor Lutheran Church. She helped in various capacities with the Women’s Missionary Federation and Pickerel Lake Bible Camp. She enjoyed quilting, teaching and their home was always open to others. Adeline passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 9 days. Survivors include her husband, Sherman of Webster; one son, Michael (Juli) McCarlson of Webster, SD; three daughters, Julie (Chuck) Johnson of Webster, SD, Jane (Jim) Rasmussen of Maple Grove, MN and Sharon (Don) Koch of LasVegas, NV; one sister, Shirley (Laverne) Storley of Eden, SD; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Vercel Wik.
