Albin Lindquist, 77 of Webster died on Saturday, April 05, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. His funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at American Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon officiating. Burial will be in Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services on Wednesday at the church. Albin Martin Lindquist was born on Saturday, September 12, 1936 to Clarence and Thelma (Mehus) Lindquist at Lemmon, South Dakota. The family lived near Keldron. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith in Morristown, South Dakota. In 1937 the family moved to Day County and lived on several farms in the Bristol and Webster area. He attended country school and graduated from Webster High School in 1956. After his graduation he worked for Batie Implement in Webster. On April 27, 1958 he was united in marriage to Mary Johnson at American Lutheran Church in Webster. After their marriage the couple made their home in Webster. In 1959 he began working for Peterson and Hay Plumbing and Heating. He started his own business in 1963, Al’s Plumbing and Heating, and operated it until 1995 when he semi-retired and the couple moved to the family farm. For over twenty years he also was a member of the South Dakota National Guard in Webster. He was a member of American Lutheran Church in Webster where he served on the Church Council and Property Committee. He enjoyed fishing in the area and also in Canada, hunting, camping, snowmobiling and being on the farm. He loved his grandchildren, family gatherings and having coffee with friends. Al passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 24 days. Survivors include his wife, Mary of Webster; four sons, Wayne (Peggy) Lindquist of Mitchell, OR, Wesley (Tami) Lindquist of Burlington, WI, Keith (Marcia) Lindquist and Kim (Kristi) Lindquist both of Sioux Falls, SD; one daughter, Sandra (Mike) Cadwell of Sioux Falls, SD; two sisters, Alvina (Arvid) Melquist of Winthrop, MN and Betty (Jerry) Warner of Eagan, MN; a special family friend, Shelly Baer; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Scott and one sister.
