WEBSTER- Amanda Kwasniewski, 94 of Webster died on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster. Burial will be at St. Otto’s Cemetery, Webster. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service on Monday 1-4 P.M. then continuing at the church 6-8 P.M. with a 7:30 P.M. Rosary Service. Amanda Eva Pischke was born on Friday, November 24, 1911 to Michael and Marie (Poplau) Pischke on the family farm in Highland Township, Day County, South Dakota south of Webster. She grew up on the family farm and attended school at Highland District #186 country school and St. Otto’s Catholic School in Webster. On September 14, 1937 she was united in marriage to Bernard “Ben” Kwasniewski at St. Otto’s Catholic Church in Webster. After their marriage the couple farmed on various farms until purchasing their own farm in Highland Township, Day County in 1946. She was a homemaker, raising their children. Mr. Kwasniewski passed away in May 1977. After his death she continued to live on the farm with her son, Myron. In March 2001 she entered Bethesda Home in Webster. Amanda was known to be a hard worker who loved being outdoors with her animals. She raised poultry and sold the produce to area people. She loved her cats and dogs. She passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 11 days. Survivors include three daughters, Caroline (Russel) Buyse of Largo FL, Loretta (Dale) Talley of Tucson, AZ and Vivian (Sherman) White of Hurricane, WV; five sons, LaVern (Pamela) Kwasniewski of Watertown, SD, Francis “Fritz” (Donna) Kwasniewski, LaRome (Barb) Kwasniewski and Myron Kwasniewski all of Webster, SD and Bernard “Jr.” (Ronnie Anne) Kwasniewski of Parkton, NC; two sisters, Jeanette Lesnar of Webster, SD and Estelle Kaiser of Bismarck, ND; two brothers, Julian (Helen) Pischke and Florian (Marlys) Pischke both of Watertown, SD; fifteen grandchildren and twenty seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one grandson, two sisters and three brothers.
