ROSLYN- Ardys Lorensberg, 66 of Roslyn died on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 18, 2007 at Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn, Janet Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Sunday 4-8 P.M. and prior to services on Monday. Ardys Marie (Rossier) Lorensberg was born on Sunday, January 19, 1941 to Rose (Rossier) Thorsness on the Rossier family farm near Lake City, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lake City. She attended country school near her home. On March 25, 1972 she married Raydon Lorensberg at Webster, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple lived in Lake City and Roslyn before moving to the Lorensberg family farm in Independence Township, Day County northwest of Roslyn. She was employed at Dakotah, Inc. in Eden and also in Webster until she retired in 1996 after working for sixteen years. Also in 1996 the couple retired from farming and moved into Roslyn. She was a member of Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn where she was active in Circle and Ladies Aide. She enjoyed reading, sewing, baking and spending time with her friends, family and especially her granddaughter, Haley. Ardys was a kind and caring person and enjoyed giving to others. Ardys passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 26 days. Survivors include her husband, Raydon of Roslyn; two sons, Kent (Sara) Lorensberg of Roslyn, SD and Scott Lorensberg of Aberdeen, SD; one daughter, Kimberly Lorensberg of Sisseton, SD; a granddaughter, Haley Lorensberg of Roslyn, SD; two sisters, Debbie (Phil) Hannasch of Britton, SD and Mary Ellen Engelman of Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Larry (LeAnn) Thorsness of Round Rock, TX and David (Peggy) Thorsness of Rapid City, SD; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Thorsness of Warner, SD. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and one brother, Donald Thorsness.
