ROSLYN – Caroline Rumpza 66, of Roslyn died on Wednesday May 28, 2008 at Strand Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 31, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grenville, burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Friday 1-4 P.M. then continuing at the church until 8:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Rosary. Caroline J. Miotke was born on Friday, May 30, 1941 to Joe and Mary (Gruba) Miotke at Waubay, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grenville, South Dakota. She attended grade school at Sunnyside District 200 northeast of Grenville. After her education she babysat for several families in Aberdeen, South Dakota. On October 20, 1962 she married Joseph Rumpza at Grenville. After their marriage the couple made their home on the Rumpza family farm southeast of Roslyn, South Dakota. In 1984 they retired from active farming but continued to live on the farm. She moved to Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in February 2005. Mr. Rumpza passed away in October 2005. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grenville where she was active in the Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, baking and telling jokes. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Caroline passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Roslyn, South Dakota at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 28 days. Survivors include one daughter, Susan (DuWayne) Block of Taylors Falls, MN; two brothers, Joe Miotke of Grenville, SD and Danny (Lois) Miotke of South St. Paul, MN; and one sister, Mary Ann (Clinton) Nilson of Webster, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one daughter, Linda.
