MILBANK- Donna Phillips, 53 of Milbank died on Thursday, January 08, 2009 at Milbank Area Hospital in Milbank. Her funeral will be at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Hope Lutheran Church in Summit, Rev. Justin Neugebauer officiating. Burial will be in Summit City Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service (fiksdalfuneral.com) on Monday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Donna Gladys Phillips was born on July 17, 1955 to Alfred and Betty (Purcell) Phillips at Peabody Hospital in Webster, South Dakota. In 1959 the family moved and made their home in St. Paul, Minnesota where Donna attended school. She was baptized and confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church in St. Paul. In 1965, at the age of ten, Donna was joined by the birth of her only sibling, Robin Clarissa Phillips. Donna grew up with the enjoyment of music, love of friends and family visits, and dressing up her little sister in dresses and pigtails. In 1973 she graduated from Highland High School in St. Paul. In 1974 she married Pete Mours in St. Paul and on June 5, 1976 Donna gave birth to her only child, Rocky James Mours. The family made their home in St. Paul until Donna was moved to a care center in St. Paul due to an illness. In August 1996, she moved to Golden Living Center in Milbank, South Dakota to be closer to her family. Donna enjoyed recreation time at the care center, visiting with friends and family, and eating tacos with her Dad. Donna passed away on January 8, 2009 at Milbank, South Dakota at the age of 53 years, 5 months, and 22 days. Survivors include; her father, Alfred Phillips of Summit, SD, one son, Rocky Mours of St. Paul, MN, one sister, Robin Phillips of Summit, SD, three nieces, one nephew, one great niece, many great nephews, many aunts and uncles, and a couple of very special friends at the Golden Living Center in Milbank. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Laura (Purcell) Phillips.
