Evelyn K. Anderson, 89 of Webster died on Saturday September 01, 2012 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Her funeral will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday September 6, 2012 at American Lutheran Church, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon will officiate. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday 5 – 7 P.M. Evelyn Katherine Sudman was born on December 10, 1922 to William and Elsie (Buhler) Sudman near Bristol, South Dakota. She was baptized at Faith Lutheran Church in Butler, South Dakota and confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Webster, South Dakota. She attended country school District No. 188 in Highland Township near her home and graduated from Butler High School in 1942. Evelyn worked at various places in the Webster area. On September 27, 1944 she was united in marriage to Arthur Anderson at American Lutheran Church in Webster. To this union four children were born. The family made their home and farmed in Highland Township, Day County southwest of Webster. In addition to helping on the family farm, Evelyn was a devoted mother. She also was a caregiver for her father-in-law for a number of years and later for her husband with the assistance of their son. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening, and holidays spent with family. She was known for her delicate embroidery skills. Evelyn also was a volunteer for the American Cancer society to which she helped collect donations for 25 years. Evelyn passed away Saturday September 1, 2012 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 89 years 8 months, and 21 days. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Nancy Hallstrom of Webster, SD, Wayne Anderson of Webster, SD, Janice (Warren) Beck of Milbank, SD, and Peggy (Peter) Juba of Watertown, SD, one brother Duane (Gail) Sudman of Northfield, MN, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, andf many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son-in-law Ron Hallstrom, one grandchild Natalie Beck, and one great-grandchild Rayce Olson.
