BRISTOL- Gladys Clausen 92 of Bristol died on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol, Rev. Dan Overbo officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery near Lily. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Friday 4-7 P.M. and prior to services on Saturday at the church. Gladys Evelyn Haugen was born on Sunday, November 9, 1913 to Ted and Garda (Aadson) Haugen on a farm in Highland Township, Day County, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed in Highland Lutheran Church. She attended country school near her home. On February 16, 1933 she married Clifford T. Clausen at Clark, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple made their home on a farm near Lily. She worked for Kay Olson Grocery in Lily. In 1974 they retired from farming and moved to Bristol. Mr. Clausen passed away in 1986. After his death she continued to live in Bristol and entered Sun Dial Manor in July 1999. She was a member of Lily Lutheran Church for 60 years and after it closed she joined Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol. She was active in both churches in Ladies Aide. She loved cooking, baking, gardening, making quilts and playing cards. Gladys passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at Bristol, South Dakota at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 5 days. Survivors include one son, Clifford (Lois) Clausen of Deer Creek, MN; a daughter-in-law, Marlys Clausen of Webster, SD; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, David, one grandson, Kevin, and two brothers, Kenneth and Ordean.
