WEBSTER- Gladys Schlotte, 89 of Webster died on Friday, April 7, 2006 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Her funeral will be at 11:OO A.M. Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at American Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 4-8 P.M. at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster and prior to services on Tuesday. Gladys Ida Ludtke was born on April 12, 1916 to Emil and Clara (Johnson) Ludtke in Morton Township, Day County, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at American Lutheran Church in Webster. When she was 6 years old, she moved with her family into Webster. She attended grade school in Webster. On September 26, 1933 she married Henry Schlotte in Webster. The couple made their home on the family farm southwest of Webster. To this union, they were blessed with two sons; Virgil and Myron. Mr. Schlotte passed away on June 16, 1984. Gladys continued to live on the farm until April 1996, when she entered the Bethesda Home in Webster. Gladys was a lifelong member of American Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and watching television until 2004 when a stroke claimed her vision. She loved her family and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Gladys passed away on Friday, April 7, 2006 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 89 years, 11 months, and 25 days. Survivors include two sons, Virgil (Alice) Schlotte of Cokato, MN. And Myron (Janet) Schlotte of Webster, SD, one sister, Marjorie Rosengren of Fergus Falls, MN , seven grandchildren , eighteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
