WAUBAY- Glendoris Bury, 62 of Waubay died on Monday, December 18, 2006 at her home in Waubay. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday, December 22, 2006 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Fr. Les Campbell and Fr. Charles Chan officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Closed casket visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Thursday 4-8 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Prayer Service. Glendoris Joann Bury was born on Friday, February 25, 1944 to Josephine Seaboy and James Keeble at their home near Pickerel Lake, Day County, South Dakota. She was later adopted by the Sydney Roberts family. She attended the Flandreau Indian School. On July 9, 1962 she married Donald Bury, Sr. at Sisseton, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple made their home at Webster. She worked for many years at Webster Tract, which later became Dakotah, Inc. and many years as a cook at Webster Public Schools. Mr. Bury passed away in October 1995. After his death she remained in Webster for a short time and then moved to Waubay. She was a member and officer of St. James Episcopal Church at Enemy Swim. Her hobbies included sewing, baking, cooking and making lots of fry bread. She loved spending time with her family and many friends. Glendoris will be remembered most for her fry bread and her big hugs. Glendoris passed away on Monday, December 18, 2006 at Waubay, South Dakota at the age of 62 years, 9 months and 22 days. Survivors include one son, Donald (Daphne) Bury, Jr. of Waubay, SD; four daughters, Pam (Dominic) Dolney of Webster, SD, Charlotte (Loris) Welch of Waubay, SD, Cheryl (John) Premus of Webster, SD and Susan Bury of Waubay, SD; three brothers, Lew Harmonson of Texas, Darrel Roberts of Sisseton, SD and Leon Roberts of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Janice Roberts and Carol McClain both of Iowa; sixteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a special friend, Mike Lloyd of Waubay, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.
