Joyce Hensley

Joyce Hensley, 70 of Webster and formerly of Ada, Oklahoma died on Friday, May19, 2017 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Her funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 26, 2017 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Rev. Mike DeKraai officiating. Burial will be at Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday 5-7 P.M. and one hour prior to services. Joyce Elaine Robb was born on November 1, 1946 at Webster, South Dakota. She was baptized at Butler Lutheran Church in Butler. The family lived near Bristol where she began school. The family then moved to Ellendale, North Dakota where she graduated from Ellendale High School. She married Lee Rassmussen and they made their home in Kenosha,Wisconsin. Later she moved to California where she worked as a waitress in a Chinese Restaurant. She married Lee Hensley at Reno, Nevada. After their marriage the couple moved to Ada, Oklahoma where she managed a restaurant and later they both managed a small long term care facility together. He passed away on December 15, 2013. A few months after his death, she moved to Webster, South Dakota to live with her sister, Mary Ann. Because of failing health, she moved to Bethesda Home in December of 2016 where she resided until the time of her death. Joyce enjoyed painting and floral arranging. Joyce passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 18 days. Survivors include two sons, Brian (Angela) Rassmussen and Wade (Roxanne) Rassmussen; two daughters, Tracie (Joe) Minorik and Robin (Ted) Shetchman; two brothers, Dale Robb of Minot, ND and Lyle (Stevie) Robb of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Mary Ann Rithmiller of Webster, SD and Louise (Norman) Hagen of Minneapolis, MN; ten grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Joyce was my boss in Ada okla from 1990 til 1993..She was tough and didnt take any crap from anyone..We became good friends and when my Dad died her and her husband Lee were there for me. They sold the care home and I went into home health...We lost touch over the years .She crossed my mind today and I found this obit..She was my friend and I loved her..So sorry for your loss

We are so sorry for your loss. The death of a love one can be extremely difficult to cope with. Many have found comfort through Gods word the Bible. It repeatedly seals about the elimination of death and a time when we will see our love ones again. 1Cor.15:26, Acts. 24:15.
