Luanne Spiering, 74 of Webster died on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen. PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE!! Her funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn, Rev. Janet Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home in Webster on Friday 5-7 P.M. ending with a 7 P.M. Prayer Service. LuAnne Rae Lardy was born on December 2, 1943 to Oscar and Hazel (Monshaugen) Lardy at Peabody Hospital in Webster, South Dakota. The family lived on a farm southeast of Roslyn in Grenville Township, Day County. She was baptized and confirmed at Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn. She attended school in Roslyn and graduated from Roslyn High School in 1961. After high school she worked at Bethesda Home in Webster. On November 28, 1964 she was united in marriage to Charles “Chuck” Spiering at St. Otto’s Catholic Church in Webster. After their marriage the couple lived on a farm near Roslyn and then eventually purchased the Spiering family farm in Raritan Township west of Roslyn. She worked at Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home and then quit to help her husband with the milking on the farm. In 2009 they purchased a home and moved into Webster. Chuck passed away in December 2017. Since his death she has remained in Webster. In the early days the couple enjoyed snowmobiling. She loved taking care of her flower gardens and planting many evergreen trees on their farm. She especially loved her cats and dogs and considered them her children, since the couple didn’t have any. Survivors include one sister, Marlene (Harold) Miller of Aberdeen, SD; brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law, aunts and uncles, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Muriel Hendrickson, and a niece and nephew, Kirk and Kelly Hendrickson.
