WEBSTER- Lucy Gebur, 83 of Webster died on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster. Burial will be at St. Otto’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Monday 1-4 P.M. then at the church 6-8 P.M. with a Scriptural Prayer Service and Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Lucy Caroline Miotke was born on Sunday, October 1, 1922 on a farm near Buffalo Lake, Lake City, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grenville. When she was a small child the family moved to a farm near Grenville. She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic school in Grenville and then worked for area families. On October 22, 1947 she married Leonard “Pete” Gebur at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lily. After their marriage the couple made their home on a farm near Bradley. In 1948 they moved to the Lily area and farmed. In 1963 they purchased a farm in York Township northeast of Lily. In 1986 they retired from farming but continued to live on the farm until 2000 when they moved to Webster. The couple entered Bethesda Home in Webster in April 2005. As a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lily she taught CCD classes and was a member of the Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards, cooking, baking and her grandchildren. Lucy passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 28 days. Survivors include her husband of Webster; three sons, Steve (Peggy) Gebur of Groton, SD, Edward (Denise) Gebur of Eustis, FL & Glenn (Peggy) Gebur of Lily, SD; five daughters, DeAnna (Larry) Trautner of Roslyn, SD, Donna Gebur of Brookings, SD, Georgia (Galen) Sichmeller of Butler, SD, Jeani (Mike) Rice & Michelle Gebur both of Webster, SD; two brothers, Bernie (Alice) Miotke of Arizona & Calvin Miotke of Sublimity, OR; 25 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, seven brothers and two granddaughters.
