ROSLYN- Marcene “Marci” Janisch, 40 of Ft. Pierre and formally of Roslyn died on Monday, December 28, 2009 at St. Mary’s Healthcare Center in Pierre. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster. Burial will be at St. Otto’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Wednesday 3-5 P.M. then continuing at the church with a 7 P.M. Rosary. fiksdalfuneral.com. A memorial fund has been set up for the children at CorTrust Bank in Webster. Marcene “Marci” Ann Lardy was born on Tuesday, September 30, 1969 to Richard and Deloris (Okroi) Lardy at Webster, South Dakota. She grew up on the family farm west of Roslyn in Raritan Township, Day County. She was baptized at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster and later confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grenville. She attended school in Roslyn and graduated from Roslyn High School in 1987. After graduation she worked at the Roslyn Meat Market for a number of years. She was united in marriage to Brian Johnson in May 1988. The couple later divorced and remained friends. In March 1993 she married Donn Janisch at Webster. They made their home in rural Eden. To this union four children were born, Russell, Chasity, Brooke and Bridget. They later divorced and she moved to Roslyn where she worked at Jimmy J’s and was in the dietary department at Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home. In February 2006 she moved to Ft. Pierre. She was employed by CBM as Food Services Director for the South Dakota Women’s Prison in Pierre at the time of her death. Marci enjoyed spending time with friends, family and especially her children. She will be missed sadly but fondly by friends, family and co-workers. Marci passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Pierre, South Dakota at the age of 40 years, 2 months and 28 days. Happy to have shared her life are her children, Russell and Chasity Janisch of Eden, SD and Brooke and Bridget Janisch of Ft. Pierre, SD; her parents, Richard and Deloris Lardy of Roslyn, SD; a sister, Melissa “Peanut” (Tim) Bent and their children, Tristen and Ciera of Webster, SD; a brother, Mike (Jolynn) Lardy and their children Amber, Micaela and Amber’s son, Landon all of Norfolk, NE; a special friend in Marci’s life and guardian angel, Mike Herrick of Ft. Pierre, SD; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, an uncle and toddler cousin.
