Margaret Gabler, 67 of Webster died on Monday, August 01, 2016 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Rev. Steve Hargis will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date at Webster Cemetery. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Margaret Janet Geyer was born on June 21, 1949 at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to William Wible and Mabel Geyer. She attended grade school and graduated from high school in Fort Lauden, Pennsylvania. She met her husband, Robert Gabler, at the county fair. The couple were married on August 24, 1968 at Harrisburg, Maryland. Robert joined the Army and they spent six years in Germany and many other places. After he retired from the Army the couple moved to Webster in 1987. Margaret was the proud mother of five boys. She worked several years as a waitress at Breske’s Café and Bain’s Café, as well as Bethesda Home. She retired for medical reasons in 2005. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and also attended American Lutheran Church, both in Webster. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and attending yard sales and Needs Anonymous. She loved her grandchildren and looked forward to their visits. Margaret passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 67 years, 1 month and 10 days. Survivors include her husband, Robert of Webster; five sons, Mike (Deborah) Gabler of Colorado Springs, CO, Robert (Karen) Gabler of Kileen, TX, Charles Gabler and David (Naou) Gabler both of Webster, SD and William (Anna) Gabler of Watertown, SD; three brothers, Gene Geyer and Fred Geyer both of Chambersburg, PA and Marvin Geyer of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Rebecca (Robert) Effland of Chambersburg, PA; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and eight siblings.
