Marian Narem, 91 of Webster died on Sunday, April 01, 2012 at her home in Webster. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 9, 2012 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster. Burial will be at St. Otto’s Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Sunday 6-8 P.M. with at 7 P.M. Rosary Service. Marian Otilia Wojcik was born on Tuesday, March 29, 1921 to Leo and Anna (Schulz) Wojcik at Grenville, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grenville. She attended parochial school in Grenville where she also graduated from high school in 1937. She attended a business school in Aberdeen and then returned to Webster where she worked for the A.S.C.S. farm service agency. Marian was united in marriage to Lester Narem on November 3, 1942 at Watertown, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple farmed the Narem family farm in Central Point Township, Day County southeast of Waubay. She worked for Dakotah, Inc. in Waubay and then attended VoTech in Watertown where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse. They retired from farming in 1978 and moved to Webster where she continued to work as a nurse at Day County Hospital in Webster until she retired in 2000. Lester passed away in February 2006. After his death she continued to live in her home in Webster. She was a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster where she was active in the Altar Society and the funeral choir. She enjoyed making quilts for many years to give to family members and enjoyed having family for holiday celebrations. She also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. Marian passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at her home in Webster at the age of 91 years and 3 days. Survivors include three sons, Leon (Marilu) Narem of Chanhassen, MN, Robert (Linda) Narem of Twin Brooks, SD and James Narem of Anaheim, CA; three sisters, Theresa Benedict of Kea’Ku, HI, Ann (Duane) Johnson of Avondale, AZ and Carolyn (Julius) Sklennar of Delevan, WI; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Earlene, two brothers and seven sisters.
