Mildred MeyerMildred Meyer, 92 of Roslyn and formerly of Webster died on Monday, December 01, 2014 at Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn. Memorial services will be held at Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn next spring or summer. Mildred Fishbeck was born on March 16, 1922 to John and Sophie (Strand) Fishbeck on the family farm near Roslyn, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Fron Lutheran Church and attended school in Roslyn. She married George Huggett on April 11, 1941 at Fron Lutheran Church. The couple lived and farmed in Day County and then moved to California. In 1961 they returned to Roslyn. After the death of George in 1967 she returned to California and worked at a ladies spa. She married Joseph Meyer on February 5, 1976. They moved to Roslyn and ran the Roslyn Café. They also spent five years in Spearfish, South Dakota then moved to Burkburnett, Texas where she enjoyed volunteering for the American Red Cross and was active in the Ladies American Legion Auxiliary, Post 264. In 1999 she moved to Minot, North Dakota and in 2004 she returned to the area and lived at Heritage Village in Webster. In 2013 she moved to Strand-Kjorsvig Living Center in Roslyn where she has resided since. Mildred has enjoyed quilting and will always be remembered for her joyfulness and happy nature. Survivors include a son, Gary (Ruby) Huggett of Webster, SD; a daughter, Gloria Ripperger of Phoenix, AZ; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Huggett of Helena, MT; one brother, Orris Fishbeck of Webster, SD; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
