WEBSTER- Pearl Franson, 85 of Webster died on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. Her funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 2, 2010 at American Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon will officiate. Burial will be in Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Thursday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services at the church on Friday. Fiksdalfuneral.com. Pearl Henrietta Lange was born on Sunday, July 13, 1924 to John and Ragna (Mathiason) Lange on a farm near Butler, South Dakota. Her mother died in 1924 and she lived with her father and grandparents until, as a young child, she was adopted by Tom and Minnie Gregerson. They lived southeast of Webster in Morton Township, Day County where she attended country school. On July 15, 1944 she was united in marriage to Floyd Knight at Webster. After their marriage the couple made their home on a farm in Morton Township. In 1947 they moved to Webster where they took over the Knight family road construction business. Floyd passed away in 1980. On April 11, 1992 she married Vernon Franson. The couple continued to make their home in Webster. Vernon passed away in 2004. After his death she continued to live in her home eventually moving to Heritage Village. She entered Bethesda Home in 2008. Pearl was a member of American Lutheran Church in Webster where she was active in W.E.L.C.A., Ladies Aide where she was President for several years, and served on many committees in the church. Pearl loved to cook and bake. Her hotdishes and baked treats fed many hearts and souls over the years. She spent hours in the church basement cooking and serving church events. She especially enjoyed her Norwegian holiday baking. She was a lifelong caregiver for her parents, brothers, as well as her own children and grandchildren. She always had a hug for everyone. Pearl passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 16 days. Survivors include two sons, Robert (Eunice) Knight of Webster, SD and Mark (Toni) Knight of Aberdeen, SD; two daughters, Barbara (Mike) Carson of Watertown, SD and Janel (Mark) Reedstrom of Milbank, SD; one step-son, Randy Franson of Webster, SD; two step-daughters, Patricia (Richard) Forsell of Longview, WA and Jaci Waligoske of Rapid City, SD; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, step parents, husbands, a son, Danny, a brother, Eldon and a step-brother, Gary.
