WEBSTER- Selma Tvinnereim 99, of rural Webster, died on Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn. Her funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Tabor Lutheran Church near Webster, Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Friday 4-8 P.M. with at 7:30 P.M. prayer service. Selma Caroline Tvinnereim was born on Monday, October 15, 1906 to Bent and Lena (Skor) Tvinnereim on the family farm in Lynn Township, Day County, South Dakota northwest of Webster. She was baptized and confirmed at Tabor Lutheran Church. She attended Gem District 153 country school near her home. After she completed her schooling she worked as a housekeeper in the Webster area. In 1933 she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where she worked as a housekeeper for 30 years and then worked at the Deaconess Hospital Cafeteria in Minneapolis. After her retirement in 1968 she returned to the family farm and cared for her mother until her death in 1984. After her mother’s death she continued to live on the farm until April 1998 when she entered Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn. She was a life-long member of Tabor Lutheran Church where she served as a Deaconess and Sunday School Teacher. She loved to cook, garden and entertain family and friends. Selma passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2005 at Roslyn, South Dakota at the age of 99 years and 22 days. Survivors include two brothers, Ervin (Una) Tvinnereim and Donald (Winefred) Tvinnereim both of Webster, SD; one sister, Beverly (Ed) Niezielski of Minneapolis, MN; a brother-in-law, Ted Howe of Minnetonka, MN; three sisters-in-law, Delores Tvinnereim of Austin, MN, Irene Tvinnereim and Carol Nelson both of Webster, SD; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, Andrew, Clifford, Reuben, Bennie, Arnold and Lester, three sisters, Mabel Paulson, Sylvia Howe and Loretta McClain.
