ROSLYN- Steve Brendmoen, 51, formally of Roslyn died on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Lester Prairie, Minnesota after a long battle with cancer. His funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn, Janet Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Tuesday 4-8 P.M. and prior to services on Wednesday. Steven John Brendmoen was born on Wednesday, July 21, 1954 at Webster, South Dakota to Vernon and Maurine (Eidahl) Brendmoen of rural Roslyn. He was baptized and confirmed at Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn. He attended country school and then in 1962 the family moved to Webster where he continued school. In 1967 the family moved to Aberdeen where Steve graduated from high school in 1972. On June 30, 1979 he married Inez Henning at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster. After their marriage the couple made their home in Roslyn. Steve worked in construction his whole life first in the Roslyn area and later with Kraus-Anderson Construction Company where his position was Superintendant. In 2004 he moved to Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Steve’s life-long passion was spending time outdoors hunting and fishing with his sons, Beau and Ross. He especially enjoyed duck hunting and relished opening season with his sons. Know for his willingness to always help others, he was a long time volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for the Roslyn Fire Department and he was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his fiancée, Joan Thompson of Lester Prairie, MN; two sons, Beau Brendmoen of Wahpeton, ND and Ross Brendmoen of Roslyn, SD; his mother, Maurine Brendmoen of Webster, SD; two brothers, Jack (& Peggy) Brendmoen of Springfield, VA and Todd Brendmoen of Wichata, KS; three sisters, Linda (& Keith) Miller of Dunnellon, FL, Betty (& John) Terry of Aurora, CO and Lori (& Paul) Thorberg of Rosemount, MN; and two granddaughters, Ryleigh and Haleigh. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon and an infant sister, Peggy.
