Alice Betty Strand

Alice Betty Strand, 85, passed away September 10, 2025.

Memorial services will be held 2pm Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

Alice Betty Strand was born on May 26, 1940, to Raymound and Ester (Barton) of Bradley SD. She grew up in Bradley and attended Bradley School, during school years her favorite subject was bookkeeping. Alice would then marry David Zebulan Strand of Roslyn SD on November 28th, 1959. They farmed in Roslyn till 1966, then they moved to Southern California, particularly in Sonoma County where then in June of 1982 they started their family business, Stand & Sons Excavating Inc. Alice kept the family business going after her husband ’s passing of 38 years. Alice was a businesswoman, member of Sons of Norway and receives her 50th year pin (and loved Lutefisk), and a member of the Sonoma Soroptimist doing photo books and scrapbooking. She had five children, Dale Strand, Bonnie Strand Crane, Darren Strand, Daryl Strand, and Brenda McCahon (Tony McCahon). She also has 10 grandkids and 10 great grandkids.

She was a very loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.
