WEBSTER- Bonnie C. Anderson, 88 of Webster died on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Sanford Hospital in Webster. She was the widow of Ben Anderson. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday December 16, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster. Spring burial will be at Benson City Cemetery in Benson, MN. Visitation will be 5-7P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Bonnie Candys Arneson was born on April 12, 1931 to Clark and Belinda (Moe) Arneson on the family farm near Rutland, North Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She attended school in Veblen, South Dakota graduating in 1949. After high school, she continued her education at Northern State Teaching College in Aberdeen, South Dakota where she obtained her teaching certificate. Bonnie taught for one year and then shifted gears taking a career as bookkeeper at the Britton Clinic. On November 26, 1950, she was united in marriage to Ben Anderson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Havana, North Dakota. For a couple years the couple followed where the military took them, as Ben was serving at the time of their marriage. After his honorable discharge in 1953, the couple made their home in Webster, South Dakota. To this union six children were born. Bonnie stayed home to raise their children as well as taking on the task of bookkeeping for Ben’s construction company. After the kids were grown, she took employment at various businesses in town such as Wagner’s 5 & 10 Store, Perebooms Café and working as a certified nursing assistant at Strand Kjorsvig Nursing Home in Roslyn and Bethesda Home as well as Day County Hospital in Webster. Bonnie was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, Webster VFW and American Legion Auxiliary (which she was honored for her 50 years of service recently), Hospital Auxiliary of Webster, as well as her greatest achievement of helping with the creation of ARC of the United States, Day County Chapter. She also was instrumental in the ground work for the special needs department in the Webster School System. Bonnie was a devout Christian woman and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She enjoyed sewing, and was famous for her chocolate cake and lefse making skills, but above all else, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren, whether it be reading to them, or playing cards or board games. Bonnie passed away Tuesday December 10, 2019 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 88 years, 7 months, and 28 days. She will be forever loved and greatly missed by her children; Roger (Brenda) Anderson of Lansford, ND, Glenda (Ray) Ascheman of Elbow Lake, MN, Joyce (Lew) Nokleby of Benson, MN, and Molly Anderson of Milbank, SD. She also leaves 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren as well as some very special friends Duane and Claudette Rehfeld of Webster, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Gary and Alan, granddaughter Dixie, three brothers; Densel, Raymond, and Donavon Arneson, and two sisters; Delores Stanley and Dorothy Dalton.
