Chad Kurkowski

Chad Kurkowski, 51, of rural Grenville, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024. To honor Chad's wishes, he will be cremated and no formal services will be held.

Chad Alan Kurkowski was born in Watertown, South Dakota on February 13th, 1973. He spent his youth on the family farm and attended and graduated Roslyn High School. After high school he spent several years living in Webster where he worked at the foundry and was a member on the volunteer fire department. When the opportunity arose Chad bought his own piece of land and farm back in rural Grenville. 

Chad lived a good life. He was surrounded by his friends, family and his farm. Many may remember Chad for his infectious smile, can-do attitude, and love of tinkering and fixing things. He filled his day from sun up to sun down. He was never afraid of a hard days work but loved what he did. Chad always stayed busy with different projects. Chad was the person you would call when you needed anything fixed, from carpentry to electrical to mechanical. He truly had a gift for figuring out problems. A kind and generous soul at heart, Chad was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked. In his spare time he enjoyed one of his many, favorite hobbies such as snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, farming, gardening, and cooking.

Chad was preceded in death by his father, Eugene (Gene) Kurkowski, grandparents Ted and Rose Kurkowski and Robert and Flo Schuster.

Chad is survived and greatly missed by his mother Gloria, his two sisters, Brittany and Jenna, his brothers Travis and Jason, his son Josh, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his dog Jake. 

There will be a private family gathering held to honor his life at a later date.
