Daniel Schulz

Daniel "Trapper" Schulz, 73, formerly of Waubay, passed away, Monday, June 16, 2025 at his home in Sioux Falls.

Visitation and viewing will be 5-7pm Saturday, June 21, 2025 at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be at a later date at Lakewood Cemetery near Waubay.

Daniel Bruce Schulz was born on June 15, 1952, at Webster, South Dakota to William and Arlyne (Pies) Schulz. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Waubay and attended school in Waubay, graduating from WHS in 1970. After high school, he furthered his education at South Dakota State University in Brookings, obtaining a degree in agriculture. He taught high school Ag in Chester, South Dakota. He then moved to Redfield and Pierre, before settling in Sioux Falls, 22 years ago, where he continued to live until his passing. He enjoyed trapping in his younger years, which is how he received the nickname “Trapper” from his uncle. He also enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his brother Kenneth Schulz of Waubay, SD, uncles, Rubin Schulz of Watertown, SD and David Schulz of Upton, WY, aunts Karen Henderson of Morris, MN and Dorothy Pies of Sisseton, SD, cousins, Julaine Selzler of Watertown, SD, Chris (Amy) Sass and girls of Bradley, SD, and Lisa (Dave) Kolden of Chokio, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Randall, and many aunts and uncles.
