Diane Horst 69, of Roslyn and formerly of Webster died on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Strand-Kjorsvig Rest Home in Roslyn. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster. Inurnment of her ashes will be at St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery in Webster. Family will be present at on Tuesday 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home for a visitation. Diane Rose Horst was born on Sunday, December 13, 1942 to Otto and Adelpha (Dolney) Horst at Peabody Hospital in Webster, South Dakota. She attended parochial school and graduated from Webster High School in 1961. After she received her education she lived with her parents in Webster and did babysitting. In the early 1960’s she began working at the hospital in Webster. She continued to work at the hospital until health reasons forced her to retire in 2002. She entered Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn in 2004. She was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster. She was active in bowling and served as secretary of the bowling league. She also enjoyed reading, electronic games and watching movies. While at the nursing home she enjoyed bingo and other activities. Diane passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Roslyn, South Dakota at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 11 days. Survivors include her mother, Adelpha of Roslyn, SD; two brothers, Eugene (Garna) Horst of Sioux Falls, SD and Leon (Pat) Horst of Prior Lake, MN; two sisters, Janet (Mervyn) Tvinnereim of Sun City, AZ and Grace (Clyde) Hendricks of Polk City, IA; ten nieces and nephews and thirteen great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and a nephew, Gary Horst.
