Diane Mathiason

Diane Mathiason, 72, of Webster passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Bethesda Home in Webster.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Journey of Faith (formerly United Methodist Church) in Webster. Interment will be at the Webster Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Diane Kay Mathiason was born on September 7, 1951, to Harvey and Arlene (Bury) Mathiason in Wisconsin while Harvey was stationed there in the US Army.  After his discharge, the family moved back to Webster and made their home on the Mathiason family farm southwest of Webster. Diane attended Webster school, graduating in 1970. After her education, she worked at Bain’s Café in Webster. She later began her career at Bethesda Home in Webster where she worked in the activities department. In 2015, she retired due to health issues. In 2017, she moved into Bethesda Home where she resided until her passing.

Diane was a member of the United Methodist Church where she was active in UMW. She enjoyed bowling and attending church and community events.

Diane passed away at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 72 years, 2 months, and 21 days.

She will be forever loved and greatly missed by her children Jennifer Mathiason of Webster, SD and Jonathan Mathiason of Davenport, IA, one sister Marilyn Robinson of Roslyn, SD, and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Dean Robinson, and niece Janelle Robinson.
