Diane Porter, 72, of Webster, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster. Luncheon will follow. Father Doug Binsfeld will officiate. Inurnment will take place at St. Otto's Catholic Cemetery at Webster, SD, in the spring.
Memorial Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Fiksdal Funeral Service and will close with a Rosary Service at 7 P.M.
Diane Barbara Snaza was born on March 20, 1950, to James and Barbara (Gebur) Snaza in Chicago Illinois. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church in Culver City California. She attended St. Gerard Majella Catholic school through the eighth grade and then graduated from St. Bernard High School in 1968.
After graduating high school, she attended Santa Monica City Collage for cosmetology. She then began work at J.C. Penny in Culver City California. In 1970 she moved to Webster SD and was a beautician for a short time at Lorraine’s House of Beauty. In 1973 she moved to Minneapolis MN, and began employment as a bank teller. She became a certified electronics solderer, and repaired cell phones and various electronic devises.
Diane married Clifford Porter. Then in October, 1975 their daughter Briana was born. On July 24, 1979 the couple welcomed twins, Amanda Leeann and Clifford Dale Jr. (PJ). Diane was a member of the first Sonny & Cher fan club, and attended several parties at their home. She loved music and often attended live events. She became friends with several members of the band “Eric Burdon and the Animals”. She was also proud of the fact that she was friends with Aileen Quinn from the movie Annie. On her sixteenth birthday she got the chance to be on the TV show American Bandstand.
Diane enjoyed crocheting, going to concerts, playing cribbage, cooking, and spending time with family. She liked to visit her grandchildren on occasions and make them special treats or meals. She also had an affinity for convertible cars.
Having been blessed to know her are her mother, Barbara Snaza Bristol SD, Daughter Briana Porter, Burnsville MN, son Clifford Porter Jr., Minneapolis MN. Her sister Janet Myers & Don, Webster SD; Two brothers David Snaza & Terry, Reno NV; Bob Snaza & Lori Webster SD, Grandchildren Trevor Friedman, Ariana Lewis, Michael Porter & Maddie, Isaiah Gonzalez, Elijah Gonzalez, Ian Gonzalez, two great grandchildren Aaliyah & Julian, nine nieces & nephews and nine great nieces & nephews and her lifelong best friend Jane Lee Arkush.
