Dileen Ninke

July 13, 1927 — August 16, 2017

Dileen Ninke, 90 of Webster died on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at her home in Webster. Her funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 21, 2017 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Pastor Mike McCarlson will officiate. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services on Monday. Dileen Martha Wenck was born on July 13, 1927 to Herman and Lena (Wohltman) Wenck at Andover. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Andover. She attended school in Andover and graduated from Andover High School in 1945. After graduation she worked at J.C. Penney in Aberdeen. She was united in marriage to Emil G. Ninke on June 26, 1947 at Andover, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple made their home in Webster. She worked at the Elevator Store, Day County Court House, Federal Crop Insurance and then Security Bank until her retirement in 1987. Emil passed away in March 2017. She was a member of Tabor Lutheran Church in Webster. She formerly belonged to American Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Building Fund Treasurer and a member of W.E.L.C.A. where she was Treasurer. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxillary where she served as President and held other offices in both groups. She was a member of Senior Health Information and Insurance Education Program. She enjoyed being a volunteer, as well as helping others. She also enjoyed hosting for family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and canning produce from Emil's garden. The couple traveled extensively with their motorhome, car and with bus groups. Survivors include three daughters, Marsha (Dennis) Block of Sioux Falls, SD, Donna (Mike) Saavedra of Central, SC and June Seehafer of Milbank, SD; one brother, Leonard (Violet) Wenck of Spearfish, SD and two sisters, Doris Alberts of Britton, SD and Darlys Kruse of Mitchell, SD and a sister in law, Margaret Wenck of Texas; five grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son; two brothers, Howard and Lloyd and an infant brother and sister.
