Donald “Don” Grosek 82 of Webster died Monday September 28, 2015 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Friday October 2, 2015 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster. Burial will at St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday 2-4 P.M. then continuing at the church with a 7 P.M. Rosary. Donald Walter Grosek was born on Thursday, July 13, 1933 to Frank and Jeanette (Swant) Grosek on the family farm near Butler, South Dakota. He was baptized at St. Otto’s Catholic Church in Webster and attended St. Otto’s Catholic School in Webster through the eighth grade. After he received his education he helped on the family farm. On November 10, 1956 he was united in marriage to Marcella “Sally” Rauchwarter at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Waubay. After their marriage the couple made their home in Webster where he worked for Chevrolet garage. In 1967 they moved to Fergus Falls, Minnesota where he worked for Murphy Freight Company. In 1972 they returned to Webster where he worked for Grosek Tire Co. After many years he retired and worked for the City of Webster and also for Al’s Grocery Store. He entered Sun Dial Manor in July 2009 and has lived their since. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster and for many years he belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed watching sports on TV, playing pool and cards. He also enjoyed having coffee with friends at the local café’s. Don passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at Bristol, South Dakota at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 15 days. Survivors include his wife, Sally of Webster; one son, Dennis Grosek of Fargo, ND; two daughters, Judy (Dan) Parks of Rapid City, SD and Denise (Larry) Geffre of Horace, ND; three brothers, Francis Grosek of Webster, SD, Raymond Grosek of Lead, SD and LeRoy Grosek of Irving, TX; eight sisters, Irene Michlitsch of North Branch, MN, Kathleen Samson of Wyoming, MN, Lois Opitz of Hartford, SD, Marion Capenter of Athens, GA, Alberta Schiley of Webster, SD, Rita Malboeuf of Colorado Springs, CO, Carol Schmit of Bristol, SD and Donna Nelson of Bursnville, MN ; five grandchildren, Michael & Matthew Parks, Noah, Anna and David Geffre and three great grandchildren, Melsanena, Tamalyza and Lathan Parks. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
