Dorothy Sigaty 83 of Watertown and formerly of Webster died Sunday May 27, 2012 at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown. A private family service will be held. Dorothy Ann Schornack was born on Sunday, September 16, 1928 to John and Mildred (Reiber) Schornack in Groton, South Dakota. She graduated from Groton High School in 1946 and then earned a teaching certificate at Northern State College in Aberdeen. She taught school for several years in the Claremont area. She married Dwayne Liebel on July 23, 1949 at the Presbyterian Church in Groton, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Claremont. To this union, three children were born; Gregory, Gary and Kristi. Dwayne passed away on November 7, 1955. In 1958, she moved to Groton. On April 8, 1961 she married Francis Sigaty and to this union, three children were born; Paul, Patti Jo and Susan. In 1963 the family moved to Webster and in 2011 the couple moved to Watertown. Dorothy was a member of United Methodist Church in Webster, where she was very active in Kiwanis and Altar Guild. She was also a member of Bridge Club. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, flowers, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Watertown, South Dakota at the age of 83 years. Survivors include her husband, Francis of Watertown; children, Gregory (Ruby) Liebel of Aberdeen, SD, Gary (Julie) Liebel of Watertown, SD, Kristi (Kevin) Koppmann of Cannon Falls, MN, Paul (Rhonda) Sigaty of Aberdeen, SD, Patti Jo (Tony) Henry of Northfield, MN and Susan (Aaron) Steiner of Watertown, SD; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, two brothers and one sister.
