Douglas J. Lesnar, 53 of Webster died Monday October 10, 2016 at Sanford Hospital in Webster.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Waubay. Inurnment will be at Waubay Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial visitation will at the church on Monday at 5 P.M. and ending with a 7 P.M. Rosary. Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster is in charge of arrangements. Fiksdalfuneral.com. Memorials are preferred.
Doug was born on July 26, 1963 in Webster SD to Anna (Hoverstadt) and Emil Lesnar. He grew up in Waubay, the youngest of nine. Doug graduated from Waubay High School in 1981. He worked for his dad doing construction during high school and beyond. He attended Northern State College, worked at Dakota Sioux Casino, the American Legion Club in Waubay and ventured to North Carolina to work as a drill press operator.
Doug was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes when he was 7 years old. He had numerous surgeries and hospital visits over the years, 5 years of kidney dialysis, then a kidney and pancreas transplant. Doug spent the next years until 2011 caring for his mother. His favorite pastimes were bowling, fishing and playing cards.
Doug is survived by the love of his life, Ann Lee; brothers Greg (Pam), Bellevue, WA, Dennis(Connie), Milbank; sisters Sharon(Jim) Hermans, Milbank, Janice Hoff, Aberdeen, Karen(Jeff) Garrett, Liberty, NC, Elaine(Dave) Koslowski, Grenville, SD, Kim(Dan) Waddle, Webster, brother-in-law Rich Solberg.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Emily Solberg, brother-in-law, Ernie Hoff, nieces Angela Koslowski, Josie, Autum and Tatum Ridl.
