Duane Grosek

Duane "Shorty" Grosek joined life's family on July 10,1946. On the evening of November 18, 2014, he followed his calling to go home to rest. He had such a fabulous laugh and a genuine caring for others, which endeared him to multitudes of people he met as he traveled over the roads of America--and lived life. His memory lives on through his wife Stacie, the love of his life, and his furburger Forrest the cat; daughters Kala Knight (Brian Sorensen), and Courtney Cutforth; grand children: Hailee (11) and Jerzee (7) Knight; Chase Henning (10) and Bristol Cutforth (5). Duane's immediate family mourn their son, brother and uncle: Fritz and Marion, Pat and Vald Birznieks, Mary Jean and Chuck Hesla, and Mike. Shorty's extended family, friends, are all saddened by his passing and welcome you to join us from 5-7 PM Friday night (11/21) at Fiksdal's, followed by a Masonic Service. Funeral service: Saturday November 22, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster. We thank you in advance for paying respect to Shorty. The entire class of Webster '64 rocks! Shorty taught all of us how to be strong. Peace. Sunday after the Vikes/Packers game, friends can gather from 3-5 PM in the Community Room at Victoria Estates, 1402 S. Marion Road, Sioux Falls.
