WEBSTER- Eldon J. Estwick 90, of Webster died Friday, May 28, 2010 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Daniel and Rev. Kristin Ostercamp will officiate. Burial with Military Rites will be in Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Monday, 4-8 P.M. with the family present from 4-6 P.M. and prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Eldon Joseph Estwick was born on April 7, 1920 to Nels and Helga (Ronshaugen) at Pierpont, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pierpont. When Eldon was a young boy, the family moved to Andover, South Dakota. He graduated from Andover High School in 1938. Later that year, the family moved to Webster, South Dakota. In 1940, Eldon was drafted into the United States Army. He was stationed in the Mariana Islands, Guam, Tinian, Saipan and the Panama Zone. He was honorably discharged as Sergeant in 1945. After his discharge he worked at various jobs in the area before going to work for the U.S. Postal Service in 1949. He was employed there for 31 years before retiring in 1980. On June 15, 1952, he married Ramona Gill at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol, South Dakota. The couple made their home in Webster, South Dakota. Eldon became a resident of Bethesda Home in Webster in May of 2007. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Webster. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, and many other sports. Survivors include his wife Ramona of Webster, a daughter Gail and Donald Wahl of Sioux Falls, SD, two grandsons, Ryan Wahl of Des Moines, IA, Matthew Wahl of Sioux Falls, SD, brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph Estwick, Robert and Gloria Estwick and June Estwick all of Sisseton, SD, Lois Zumm of Fox Lake, WI, Cleo Esche and Sharon Gill of Watertown, SD, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two sisters, two brothers, two sisters-in-law, and four brothers-in-law.
