WEBSTER- Eleanor Stewart 101, of Webster, died on Monday, April 2, 2007, at Bethesda Home in Webster, S.D. Her Funeral will be at 1:30 P.M. Saturday April 7, 2007 at Heritage Village in Webster with Rev. John Hisel officiating. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Eleanor Katherine Larson was born on March 29th, 1906 at Milbank, SD to Andrew and Christine (Von Wald) Larson. She grew up there and graduated from Milbank High School in 1924. Eleanor worked as a secretary in several offices in Milbank and then moved to Minneapolis, MN where she was employed by the Colgate Palmolive Company. In 1929 she moved to Aberdeen SD where she worked as a secretary for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. On January 29th, 1936 Eleanor married Fenton W. Stewart and moved to Webster, SD, where they established their home. She was a Past Matron of Lois Chapter No. 3 O.E.S. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church of Webster for many years. Eleanor worked in the Federal O.P.A rationing board office during World War II. Later she worked as a secretary for the E.O. Potter (later the Lena Boldes Agency) Insurance Agency office. Eleanor was an active member of the Webster Ladies Golf Club. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed classical music, loved to knit, crochet, and do other crafts. She belonged to various clubs, including the Webster Thursday Club. Eleanor loved her family dearly. She and Fenton traveled extensively in the U.S.A. and they spent many wonderful winters in Phoenix. AZ (1970-1985) Mr. Stewart passed away April 28, 2002. In April, 2002, she entered Bethesda Home, residing there until her passing on Monday, April 2nd, 2007 at the age of 101 years, four days. Survivors include a son, George A. (Nila) Stewart of Webster and a daughter, Marion (William) Robertson of Springfield, Virginia, four grandchildren, Gregg (Mahni) Stewart, Scott (Kathy) Stewart, Michael (Morgan) Robertson and Michelle (Thomas) Foye and three great grandchildren, Dorian Stewart, Zarina Stewart and Danielle Sue Robertson, one step grand daughter, Kim and two step great, great, twin grandchildren, Kailey and Kody. She was preceded in death by her parents, by her dear husband, Fenton, an infant granddaughter, one brother, Francis Larson, his wife Leone and their only child, Judi Chapman.
