Emma Mae Zubke

April 12, 2017 — June 17, 2018

WEBSTER – Emma Zubke 14 month old daughter of Brittany and Justin Zubke received her angel wings on Sunday June 17, 2018. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday June 22, 2018 At St. Johns Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Mike DeKraai will officiate. Burial will be in the Webster Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 5-7 P.M closing with a prayer service at the church. Even though Emma Mae’s life was cut short we got to celebrate a birthday, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, 4th of July, and many more memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. She enjoyed watching her daddy, papa, and uncles work their cows, helping her grandmas in the kitchen while eating snacks they bought for her, playing with her cousins and friends, and reading books with her mommy. She also loved camping at the fairs, going on walks with anyone that would push or pull her, swimming and going down slides, and cuddling her pets Mocha, Libby, and El. Emma Mae had the brightest smile that would light up everyone’s day. She cracked her family up when she would say “Uh oh” or make her big facial expression while saying “Oh”. She did everything on her own time including crawling, walking, and teething. She could give you a high five and even “pound it” thanks to her uncle Brandon. There wasn’t much that Emma would not eat. Emma and her mommy were working on learning her ABCs, eating with utensils, saying “done” instead of throwing the plate on the floor, and not running out in the street when we were playing in the front yard. She would light up when her daddy would come home from work. She was his “mini me” especially in her eyes. She was called home at the age of 1 year, 2 months, and 5 days on June 17, 2018 in Watertown, SD. Emma Mae will be remembered always and forever loved by her parents Justin and Brittany and Baby “Sister”? of Webster, SD, Paternal Grandparents: Terry and Amy Zubke of Waubay, SD, Maternal Grandparents: Jerry and Kari (Bartling) Somsen of Webster, SD, and Teri Lee of Devils Lake, ND, Maternal Great-Grandmother Linda Lee of Harrisburg, SD, Maternal Step-Great-Grandfather Bill Bartling of Wausau, WI. She will be tremendously missed by her two uncles: Brandon (Jessica) Zubke of Webster, SD and Camron Zubke of Waubay, SD, four aunts: Kelsie (Austin) Letcher of Marion, SD, Courtney (Noah Thurston) Somsen of Sioux Falls, SD, and Kaelyn and Baylie Somson both of Webster, SD, as well as her four cousins: Hayes, Holly, Hayden, and Adalynn. Emma Mae was greeted in Heaven by her Great- Grandparents: Norman and Sara Hews, Harold and Beverly Zubke, Delores Zubke, Harold and Phyllis Somsen, Jim Lee, and Midge Bartling.
