Everett Morehouse

BRISTOL – Everett Morehouse 95 of Bristol died Sunday April 12, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Groton. His funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Rev. Matt Richards will officiate. Burial will be in Bristol Cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Tuesday 5-7 P.M. ending with a 7 P.M. prayer service. Fiksdalfuneral.com. Everett Ray Morehouse was born on Wednesday, July 16, 1919 to Willie and Ella May (Charles) Morehouse on a farm north of Bristol, Day County, South Dakota. He attended country school near his home and graduated from Bristol High School in 1938. After he received his education he began farming. On November 27, 1942 he was united in marriage to Lorinda Roth at Watertown, South Dakota. After their marriage the couple lived and farmed north of Bristol. Lorinda passed away in November 1987. After her death he continued to farm. He retired from active farming in 1996 but continued to live on the farm until the present time. He also served as a substitute rural mail carrier for several years. Everett enjoyed driving the countryside looking at the crops, he also enjoyed watching baseball, hunting and trapping. He loved fishing and for 22 years had a fishing tournament at the New Evarts Resort on the Missouri River near Selby. Everett passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Groton, South Dakota at the age of 95 years, 8 months and 27 days. Survivors include three daughters, Jackie (Gene) Harstad of Alexandria, MN, Gloria Helgeson of Pierpont, SD and Muriel (Craig) Nilson of Webster, SD; seven grandchildren, Dawn (Greg) Weddle, David (Darla) Harstad, Lori (Brian) Rabenberg, Tammi (Cory) Geffre, Colby (Chelsea Fritz) Nilson, Muranda (Rodney) Schlechter and Lacey Nilson; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, Lloyd, Kenneth and Ernest, and one granddaughter, Dana Harstad.
