Gail Fellbaum

Gail Fellbaum, 58 of Webster passed away at her home surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, July 01, 2014. Memorial Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Webster, Rev. Jan FitzGibbon will officiate. There will be no visitation. The family prefers memorials directed to Children’s Care Hospital & School, Sioux Falls, SD. Because of Gail’s caring and unselfishness, she has donated her body to USD Medical School so that others may learn from her illness and possibly a cure will be found. Gail Patricia Anderson was born on April 17, 1956 to Donald and Patricia (Johnson) Anderson at Aberdeen, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol. She attended school in Bristol and graduated from Bristol High School in 1974. After high school Gail went to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D.C. for two years and then returned to Bristol where she worked at her family’s grocery store, Don’s Super Valu. She also worked at Sun Dial Manor as a C.N.A. and cooked at the A & W in Webster. On May 10, 1980 she was united in marriage to Gene Fellbaum in Bristol. After their marriage the couple made their home in Webster where Gene was employed at Lake Region Electric as a lineman and Gail ran a Daycare in their home. To this union three children were born, Donald, Gary and Kathryn. When Gene retired from his job in 2006, Gail also retired from running her Daycare and the couple both went to work on road construction. Gene passed away in 2006. Gail was a member of American Lutheran Church in Webster where she was active in W.E.L.C.A., circle, taught Sunday School and served on the church council. She served on the Webster School Board and was a Boy Scout Leader. She loved camping, dancing, fishing, riding Harley with Gene, walking, being with friends, family and her Day Care children. She enjoyed volunteering at Bethesda Home, Needs Anonymous, Children’s Care Hospital & School in Sioux Falls and being a driver for the D.A.V. van. Survivors include two wonderful sons, Donald Fellbaum of Webster, SD and Gary Fellbaum of Watertown, SD; four sisters, Suzanne (Walter) Gregory of Maple Grove, MN, Kathryn (Drew) Baumbach of Shoreview, MN, Mary Aadson of Sioux Falls, SD and Jennie (John) Wickre of Webster, SD; two brothers, Mark (Lisa) Anderson and Jon (Robin) Anderson both of Bristol, SD; an aunt, Marcella Johnson of Sun City West, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Patty (Tom) O’Bryan of Woodland Hills, CA and Cheryl Hewitt of Watertown, SD; two brothers-in-law, Dale (Alice) Fellbaum and Doug Fellbaum both of Webster, SD; a dear friend, Brian Braaten of Britton, SD; and Tex (Donald’s dog) her friend who has been with her through it all. My deepest sympathies to the family. Growing up in the Bristol area, I remember Gail working at the grocery store & always was so happy. I know from talking with people that she continued to have that same attitude even with dealing with everything life threw her way later in life. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

I will so miss my long-time Bristol childhood friend. Many good memories come to mind growing up in the neighborhood and knowing that even though separated by many miles for most of the year we were always able to re-ignite that friendship every Fall (if Gail was at home :) ) over a cup of coffee, a fresh baked cinnamon roll or a dinner out with our childhood friend Julie. Hugs to you all. May Gail's laughter I hear now as I write this message be forever with you and give you strength to continue sharing the love she shared with those she touched along the way. The pain is gone and now she's riding in the wind watching over us all and smilin' as she goes along.

Thoughts and prayers to the Fellbaum and Anderson Families. Gail's smile and upbeat personality will be greatly missed in the Webster Community. Most of my siblings and I were classmates of one of the Anderson kids in Bristol. Sincerely Rick Buhler

I just want to express my deepest sympathies to your entire family. I hadn't seen Gail for years until I ran into her at Sun Dial Manor probably in December. She was so happy and smiley and I wondered how she could keep it up, but she did! She was a few years younger than me in school, but I knew most of you Anderson girls. I am so sorry for your loss.
