Geraldine Pesall

Geraldine Pesall, 89, of Webster, passed away at Bethesda home in Webster, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, with her loving husband at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster. Burial will be at St. Otto's Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, July 18, 2025 from 5-6:30pm closing with a scriptural wake service at the funeral home.

Geraldine Snaza was born on February 27, 1936, to Joseph Thomas and Victoria Eva (Koziol) Snaza at Peabody Hospital in Webster, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grenville and attended parochial school there graduating in 1955. After high school, Geraldine worked as a waitress in Webster at Evan’s Café as well as the Webster Café.

On January 19, 1959, she married her best friend, Gerald Pesall at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Watertown for a couple years where Geraldine worked as a waitress at the Drake Motor Inn, while Gerald worked construction. In 1960, Gerald’s father passed away at which time the family moved to the Pesall family homestead and took over the farming operation. The couple raised their four children on the farm learning the values of hard work. Geraldine also worked weekends in the laundry department at Bethesda Home in Webster. Geraldine was the planner of family get togethers and often enjoyed hosting at their farm. She was woman of faith who was active in the altar society at Christ the King Catholic Church in Webster and taught catechism class at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lily. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, quilting, collecting trinkets such as strawberries and Santa Claus figurines. Geraldine also served on the township election board for several years.

Geraldine passed away with her living husband of 66 years at her side, on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Bethesda Home in Webster.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband Gerald of Webster, daughter; Gwen (Kent) Anderson of Watertown, SD, son; Greg Pesall of Webster, grandchildren; Seth, Kaleb, and Gabriel Anderson. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law Roger Pesall of Webster and Leon Pesall of Brookings, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Gail Pesall, son Gary Pesall, and siblings; Betty Kranz, Don Snaza, infant Rita Snaza, infant Joan Snaza, and half-sister Dorothy Koziol.
