Jan furthered her education attending beauty school and Watertown Business University. She then traveled around working and living in various places including Minneapolis, Aberdeen, and Pierre. In the early ‘70’s she moved to Webster living with friends, Putsy and Brownie Green. While living there she met the love of her life, Jerry Kwasniewski. The couple married January 5, 1973, at Webster. To this union three children were born: Stacy, Tim, and Jeff. The family made their home on a farm southeast of Webster where they farmed. After the kids started school, Jan began cooking at Head Start and later at the Golden Age Center in Webster. She then took a position at the Bethesda Nursing Home in medical records where she worked until her retirement. Jerry passed away in 2003, and Jan remained on the farm for a couple years before moving into Webster. Jan was a member of the Webster Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, sunbathing, reading, playing BINGO, and riding motorcycle. Jan was an extremely proud grandma, who cherished time with her grandkids. She was instrumental in their lives and made each of them feel so incredibly special and deeply loved.
