Jerry Francis Millim was born February 3, 1949 in Webster, South Dakota to August “Dick” and Pearl (Bolland) Millim. He attended country school and farmed with his great uncles. He married Charlene Anderson on May 13, 1967 in Watertown, SD. Jerry enlisted in the US Army in 1968 and was stationed in various locations Colorado, California and Georgia. He served in Korea as a mechanic and other duties during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971. He was honorably discharged in 1971. Jerry was a jack of all trades and a master of most. He was an over the road truck driver working for Angerhoffer Trucking and later owning and operating his own rig for 20 years. He also ran a repair shop from the farm on his off time keeping all the neighbors going and always having the solution to any problem that would arise. If the part couldn’t be bought, he would make it. Jerry hung up the keys to his semi and became a full time mechanic and owned and operated his own “Millim Repair” shop for about 25 years. He put down the wrenches for retirement in 2006. He loved to play in the dirt. He would always say, “Give me a seat and a lever and I’ll work all day.” Jerry looked forward to and lived for his grandkids. Saturday nights were kids’ night-when the grandkids went to grandma and grandpas house for the night. He was also a firm believer in having family dinner every Sunday. Jerry will be greatly missed by his wife Charlene of Groton, SD ,one daughter Rhonda Millim (Tony Schmitt) of Sioux Falls, SD two sons Wade Millim of Groton, SD and Shawn (Lorinda) Millim of New Leipzig, ND, two grandsons McKiley and Daltyn, two granddaughters Michaila and Morgan, three brothers Roger (Lavonne) Millim of Webster, SD, Jim (Maureen) Millim of Rapid City, SD, Danny MIllim of Big Stone, SD and one sister Marilyn (Wayne) Williamson of Alvin TX.
