Jordan "Shorty" Erdahl

ABERDEEN- Jordan Erdahl, 89 of Aberdeen died on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen. His funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 21, 2005 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Bristol, Rev. Dan Overbo officiating. Burial will be in the Bristol Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Fiksdal Funeral Service of Webster is in charge of the arrangements. Jordan “Shorty” Erdahl was born on Sunday, September 3, 1916 to George and Clara (Skaare) Erdahl in Bristol, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church. He attended school in Bristol and graduated from Bristol High School. After he received his education he worked at the Bristol Creamery. In May 1945 he entered the U.S. Army and served at the end of World War II. After his honorable discharge in 1953 he moved to California where he lived in various locations including Canoga Park. He worked at Boeing until his retirement in 1976. After retirement he moved to Bullhead City, Arizona until 1992 when he moved to Aberdeen. He has resided at Homestead Apartments for the past eleven years. He enjoyed listening to sports on the radio and television, played golf for a few years and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Jordan passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at Aberdeen, South Dakota at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 13 days. Survivors include one brother, Arthur (Joyce) Erdahl of Coon Rapids, MN; four sisters, Janet (Orval) Fick of Bullhead City, AZ, Evelyn Hall of Norwalk, CA, Helen (Harold) Vehe of Parumph, NV and Alice Stevens of Aberdeen, SD; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Gerald, David and James, and one sister, Isabelle.
