Judith Annette Schreurs, 84, of Watertown, and formerly of Roslyn and Belle Fourche, passed away on October 31, 2025, at Edgewood in Watertown. A private family service with burial will be held at Fron Lutheran Church, rural Roslyn, SD.
Judith Annette Fryer was born on February 5, 1941, to Lyle and Mildred (Thiele) Fryer. She was 1 of 13 children. She attended school and grew up in the Wilmot area. They later moved to a farm north of Roslyn. Shortly after moving to Roslyn, she met a Norwegian neighbor by the name of Mathias Nyvold who swept her off her feet. They were married on September 7, 1957. Life was good. Together they raised 5 children. She later moved to Belle Fourche where she volunteered her time at non-profit organizations and had quite a knack for scouting out and helping others in the community. Due to declining health, she moved to Watertown in 2021 to be closer to her family.
Judy had an unending love for her family, her children and grandchildren, her many friends near and far, and the beauty of the Black Hills as well as her little yellow house and her pets. She always had a lap dog, sometimes two, that snuggled in next to her whenever she sat down in her favorite chair.
She is survived by her children Selma (Keith) Howe, Erwin (Pam) Nyvold, Sarah (Kenny) Haessig, Edward Nyvold and Charles (Brenda) Nyvold, 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, well as 6 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, a great-grandchild and her parents.
