Julie "Napton" Schimmel

Julie "Napton" Schimmel, 66, of Bristol, passed away, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

Graveside services will be 11am Friday, November 14, 2025, at Wayside Cemetery, Frederick, South Dakota.

Julie Napton was born on April 23, 1959, at Aberdeen, south Dakota to Leo and Adeline (Esterby) Napton. After she graduated from High School, she began her 34-year career with 3M in Aberdeen.

On February 23, 2007, she married Kim Schimmel. The couple made their home in Bristol.

Julie enjoyed playing BINGO, fishing, collecting elephants, and bowling. She competed in the national bowling tournament for 24 years.

Julie passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 66 years, 6 months, and 9 days.

She is survived by her husband Kim of Bristol, SD, sister Carol (Todd) Loken of Bristol, SD, brothers Darrel (Marjo) Napton of Frederick, SD, and Roger (Deb) Napton of Nebraska, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lincoln Napton, sister Karen Napton, and nephew Travis Napton.
