Kenneth "Kenny" Strand

Kenneth “Kenny” Strand, 85, of Roslyn passed away Monday December 7, 2020 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital in Aberdeen. Private family graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday December 11, 2020 and will be livestreamed on Fiksdal Funeral Service Facebook page. Condolences may be sent to Carolyn Eidahl 1319 13th Street NE Watertown, SD 57201 Kenneth Strand was born on August 31, 1935 to Carl (Ruth) Collins Strand at Peabody Hospital in Webster, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Fron Lutheran Church .He served in the United States Army from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1956. On January 5, 1955 he married Joyce Holler. Kenny ran his own excavating business in Texas until he retired and moved back to South Dakota in 2006. Joyce passed away in 2011 and Kenny continued to make Roslyn his home. Kenny passed away December 7, 2020 at Aberdeen, South Dakota at the age of 85 years, 3 months, and 7 days. Survivors include one daughter Peggy Jo Strand of Webster, SD, two brothers Rolf Strand of White Bear, MN and Allen Strand of Kerrville, TX, three sisters; Carolyn Eidahl of Watertown, SD, Garna Horst of Sioux Falls, SD, and Joyce Rieck of Spencer, SD. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two sons Kevin and Kyle, and one brother David Strand.
