Larry Breske

    Larry Dwayne Breske 68 of Summit passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 21,2023. Larry suffered a heart attack in April at a pinochle tournament in Summit. After four months of ups and downs, Larry entered the Wilmot Care Center on August 18th. He was so blessed to be cared for by his sister Lisa and her husband Larry for three months. Larry was also known by "Watson" and "Breske". 

  Funeral services will b 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 28, 2023  at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Waubay with a luncheon following at The Waubay Senior Center. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.

    Larry was born on Wednesday March 16,1955 to Harry and Margaret (Schmieg) at Waubay. Larry grew up on a farm attending 1st & 2nd grade at Ortley Country School # 1. He then attended Summit School until 10th Grade. He worked for area farmers, Utne Roofing and Construction for 25 -30 years, 15 years for the city of Summit, delivered the Coteau and Valley Shoppers retiring at 62. 

    Larry liked shooting gophers with his brothers, fishing, watching the Minnesota Twins & Vikings, westerns, and game shows. He also liked going to basketball games, horse and car races, The State Fair and turkey shoots. In 1991 he went to two Minnesota Twins games. He loved going to auction sales, the casinos, playing Bingo, pinochle, Solitaire, Kings in the corner and Skipbo. In his early years he collected salt and pepper shakers and piggy banks.  Larry was a social butterfly, loved his coffee and spending time with his family. 

    In August 1992, he was blessed with a son Brandon and in 2017, a Grandson Cole.

    Larry is survived by his son Brandon Cotton (Kim Schulz), grandson Cole Cotton, of Watertown, four sisters May (Galen) Gibson of Ortley, Lisa (Larry) Erickson, Linda (Tom) Fitting and Debra Breske all of Watertown, two sisters-n-law Bernadine Breske of Yankton, Gwen Breske of Watertown, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

    Preceding him in death are his maternal and paternal grandparents, his parents, three brothers Gene 1991, Edward 1997, and Tony 2019, one sister Jean Carol 2015, two nephews David Breske 2016 and Ronald Phyle 2022.
