WEBSTER - Lyle Wik, 84 of Webster died on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Sanford Ava’s House in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. closing with a Celebration of Life Service at 7 P.M. Friday March 29, 2019 at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster. Please dress in casual attire. Burial will be at a later date at Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery. Lyle Duane Wik was born on March 15, 1935 to Sigurd and Myrtle (Jacobs) Wik at Roslyn, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at Roslyn Lutheran Church and attended country school, District 197, in Raritan Township near the family home north of Webster. After his education, Lyle began his lifelong career of farming. On September 12, 1954, he married his one true love, Mavis Roth at Andover, South Dakota. The couple made their home north of Webster and together raised their three sons. Lyle continued to operate the farming operation until his retirement in 1996. Mavis passed away in 2000. Lyle continued to live at the farm and enjoyed keeping an eye on the farming operation. He also enjoyed livestock sales, reading, drives in the country, and above all else, he cherished time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lyle passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 84 years and 11 days. He will be greatly missed by his three sons; Alan Wik of Haines, ND, Gary (Donna) Wik and Darrel (Michelle) Wik both of Webster, SD, nine grandchildren; Shawn (Jesse) Wik, Tyrel (Amy) Wik, Stacey (Adam) Christoffers, Matthew (Jenna) Wik, Mindy (Shawn) Charlson, Christa (David) Orr , Brandon (Emma) Wik, Cassie (Landon) Reuer, and Josh Wik as well as 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by half siblings; Betty (Joe) Schmidt of San Jose, CA and Paul (Karen) Larson of Custer, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Mavis, one brother, Merlin Wik, and one great-granddaughter, Alaina Wik.
