ROSLYN- Marvin C. Lindroth, 94 of Roslyn died on Monday, June 11, 2007 at Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in Roslyn. His funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 15, 2007 at Tabor Lutheran Church near Webster, Rev. Derek Kalkes and Rev. Howard Kjos officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Fiksdal Funeral Service in Webster on Thursday, 4-8 P.M. and prior to the services on Friday at the church. Marvin Carl Lindroth was born on Easter Sunday March 23, 1913 to Andrew and Marie (Bergsland) Lindroth at Minneapolis, Minnesota. He spent much of his early years in North Dakota with an aunt and uncle near Valley City. He attended Ashtibula School where he got his education. He had one brother, Clarence and one sister, Elvera Austin. On February 8, 1941 he married Margaret Dalager at the Nokomes Heights Lutheran parsonage in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Minneapolis where he worked at various jobs until 1953 when he went to work for Thermo King Corporation. He retired in 1976 after 23 years of service. The couple then moved to Roslyn, South Dakota. He entered Strand-Kjorsvig Community Rest Home in January 2006. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Minneapolis and when they moved to Roslyn attended Tabor Lutheran Church north of Webster. He loved working with trees, cutting and trimming them when needed and also gardening and flowers. He was always enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Marvin passed away on Monday, June 11, 2007 at Roslyn, South Dakota at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 19 days. Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Roslyn; one son, Marvin A. Lindroth of Roslyn, SD; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Valora Dalager of Ensinitas, CA, Carol Nelson and Alice Olson both of Webster, SD; and one brother-in-law, Albin (Alvina) Dalager of Norfolk, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Joyce in 2004; one brother and one sister.
