Sally Ann Hall was born on Wednesday, June 24, 1931 to Sylvester and Esther (Winquist) Hall in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She fondly remembered her early years living and playing near Powderhorn Park. Sally graduated from Central High School in the spring of 1949.
On January 6, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert D. Kjorsvig in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Minnesota where three children were born: Joan Marie, James Robert and Thomas Andrew.

Sally was a stay-at home mother and a devoted supporter of her children’s endeavors. Sally was the guardian for Job’s Daughters Bethel #39 and went on to become Minnesota Grand Guardian. She was an avid spectator at all of Jim and Tom’s baseball games and gymnastic competitions. Sally adored being a Grandmother and spent as much time as she could with each of her four grandchildren. Sally loved the companionship of each dog, cat and horse she had in her lifetime.

Sally’s free time was often spent golfing, bowling and skiing. Sally was an avid reader and member of the Roslyn Book Club. She was an accomplished artist in the mediums of paint, stain glass, ceramics and textiles. Sally was also a gifted seamstress with talent for needlepoint, knitting and crocheting. Many received beautiful gifts created by her caring hands.

Sally was self-taught businesswoman with a mind for accounting, website development and real estate. Early in their marriage, Bob & Sally owned Lake Pulaski Resort. Sally worked in real estate after their children were grown, and eventually started her own company. Later in life, Sally turned her stain glass hobby into a thriving business, traveling to many arts/crafts shows across the Midwest. In retirement, the couple raised and sold over 200 Norwegian Fjord horses. Sally earned an excellent reputation as a breeder, meticulously managing genetics to improve the breed in its variations while remaining active with the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry.

Sally loved the Kjorsvig homestead and shared with Bob the South Dakota Centennial Farm award – reserved for farms remaining in the same family for over 100 years. After Bob’s passing, she insured that the heritage of his grandparents, Maria and Pedar and his parents, Conrad and Hannah continued to the next generations.
Sally will be deeply missed by her children Joan (Donald) of Ely, MN and Jim (Janet) of Maple Grove: four grandchildren Matthew Saari (Shaina), Rajiv Kjorsvig, Cynthia Beans and Kirsten Kjorsvig.
Sally passed away in the arms of her daughter at her home in Ely, Minnesota after fighting Alzheimer’s Disease with amazing strength and dignity. She was welcomed to heaven by her Savior and those preceding her: her loving parents, her husband of 66 years and her deeply missed son, Thomas.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for coming today to celebrate the life of this beautiful, talented and caring woman.
